Robby’s interest in wine was kindled during his time spent in professional kitchens as a line cook and chef de partie. He began studying the subject of wine with greater focus in culinary school at Arizona Culinary Institute. Though he ultimately left the hospitality industry to pursue a BS degree in Geology, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and a career in the Energy and Tech Industries, where he has worked as a Geophysicist, Sales Manager, Operations, and Business Development Executive, his love of wine has remained a guiding interest in his life, leading to the founding of Tastevin Beverage Group LLC in 2020. He sits on the Board of Directors for the Bailliage des États-Unis d’Amérique of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, acting as a Bailli Provincial for the Southwest Province of the US. He holds the title of Professional du Vin in the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs organization, where he is also a member of the Société Mondiale du Vin. Robby is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS). Further, he is a Certified Specialist in Wine (CSW), and holds a French Wine Scholar (FWS) certification from the Society of Wine Educators (SWE) and the Wine Scholar Guild (WSG), respectively. He is committed to continuing education with studying for his Certified Wine Educator certification with the SWE which he expects to earn in 2027.
